Scope of Data Processing

As a matter of principle, we gather and utilize users’ personal data only to the extent required to ensure the functioning of our website and of our contents and services. The gathering and utilization of our users’ personal data normally occurs after users have granted their consent. An exception occurs where data processing is legally permitted.

Data Deletion and Storage Duration

The affected individual’s personal data are deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage ceases to apply. Storage can also occur if provided for by European or national legislators in EU regulations, acts or other legislation to which the FiRRM is subject. A blocking or deletion of data then occurs only if a storage period prescribed by one of the aforementioned norms expires, unless a necessity exists in relation to the further storage of the data for the arrangement of a contract or the fulfilment of a contract.

Provision of the Website and Creation of Log Files

Each time you visit our website, our service and applications automatically record data and information from the computer system of the visiting computer:

  • Information about the type and version of your browser
  • Your operating system
  • Your IP-Address
  • Date and Time of your access to the website

These data are stored in our systems’ log files. These data are not stored together with the user’s other personal data.

The legal basis for the temporary saving of data and log files is Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Storage occurs in log files in order to ensure the website’s functionality. The data also help us optimize the websites, eliminate malfunctions and ensure our IT system security.

The storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, the data is used to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context (necessary to fulfil the task of the university Art. 6 sec. 1 lit. e GDPR).

Processing takes place during site usage until the end of the respective session. In the case of the storage of the data in log files, this is the case after 24 hours at the latest. After that, the IP addresses of the users are anonymized, so that an assignment of the calling client is no longer possible.

Web Analysis

The FiRRM website uses the internal WordPress plugin “WP Statistics” to record statistical data on utilization behavior.

For user anonymity, we use an option of the plugin, which replaces the IP addresses in the database with generated hash values. Such anonymized IP addresses cannot be restored at a later time.

WordPress Statistics is used on the basis of Art.6 (1) lit.f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior in order to optimize the website.

Email Contact

On our website, it is possible to contact us via the e-mail address provided. In this case, the personal data of the user transmitted by the e-mail will be stored. In this case, the data will not be passed on to third parties. The data will be used exclusively for the processing of contact maintenance.

Use of Embedded Content

We offer users on our website the possibility to view selected videos from YouTube directly on the site. To protect user data, a connection to YouTube is only established by clicking on a link and the video is started. Only then will data be sent to the provider. Unless you click on the link, there will be no exchange between the user and YouTube. Information about the collection and use of your data on YouTube can be found here:

No further embedding of external content is currently planned.
